At Wedio, we strive to provide our members with the best possible experience when buying film gear. We understand that sometimes things don't go as planned, and that's why we have a comprehensive return & refund policy in place. This policy outlines the eligibility criteria for returns, the return process, the refund process, shipping, and more.
To be eligible for a return, the item must meet the following conditions:
- At Wedio, we offer a 48-hour return policy for all purchases made with our Escrow Service. If the equipment arrives defective or not as described by the seller, you have 48 hours upon delivery to initiate a return and receive your money back.
- The item must be in its original condition, with all tags and packaging intact.
- The item must not have been used, washed, or damaged.
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
1. Contact our support.
Contact our support team within 48 hours of receiving the gear. We will document and confirm your wish to return your order and guide you through the next steps.
2. Ship the gear back.
Print the return label and attach it to the package. Send the equipment back fully insured and in its original packaging. You will be responsible for the return shipping costs in most cases.
3. Seller will inspect the items
The item must be returned in its original packaging, with all tags and accessories included. Once the seller receives the item, they will inspect it and approve the return if it meets the eligibility criteria.
4. Receive a refund.
If the return is approved, Wedio will issue a refund within 7 business days of the seller receiving the returned item. The refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your account, depending on your bank's processing time.
The refund process
If you return an item within the allowed timeframe and it meets our return policy requirements, you will receive a refund for the full purchase price of the item (excluding the 3% service fee, additional costs from Third-Party Check, customs, and initial shipping costs).
Furthermore, you as a buyer are responsible for paying for the return shipping costs provided by Wedio. Once the seller receives the returned item, she/he will inspect it to ensure that it is in the same condition as when it was shipped to you. If everything is in order, we will issue a refund within 7 business days of the seller receiving the returned item.
Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to be reflected in your account depending on your bank or credit card provider. If you have any questions or concerns about the refund process, please feel free to contact our customer support team for assistance.
Here is an example: Copenhagen filmmaker buys a camera from Berlin:
Sellers price: €5,000
Service Fee (3% of €5,000): €150
Third-Party Check: YES €330
Insured Shipping Costs to Copenhagen: €30
Customs: EU to EU €0
Buyers Purchase Price: €5,510
Assuming the Copenhagen filmmaker wants to return the camera and is eligible for a refund:
- The buyer contacts Wedio support within 48 hours of receiving the gear and expresses their wish to return the item.
- The buyer ships the gear back fully insured and in its original packaging. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs, which in this case is €50.
- The seller inspects the gear and confirms that it is in the same condition as it was when sold.
- Wedio refunds the buyer the full purchase price (€5,480) minus the service fee (€150), Third-Party Check fee (€330), initial shipping costs (€30), and the return shipping costs (€50).
Total Refund: €4,950
The refund will typically be processed within 7 business days of receiving the returned item. However, please note that it may take up to 10 days for the refund to appear in the buyer's account, depending on the payment method used.
NB: If you contact Wedio later than 48 hours after receiving the gear your request will be canceled.
If the item was damaged during shipping, please contact us immediately, and we will provide instructions on how to proceed. If the item is lost during shipping, please contact the shipping carrier to file a claim.
