Wedio Global Coverage — your protection when renting, lending and subscribing to film & photo equipment through Wedio against damage or theft.
Wedio Global Coverage is available for most listings, and covers up to £20,000 in the UK and €25,000 in the EU in replacement value. The coverage is an affordable way to cover your equipment when renting through Wedio.

What is covered?

The Wedio Global Coverage applies to damage that occurs during your rental or subscription through Wedio.
Damage is anything that impairs the functionality of the gear. It does not include cosmetic blemishes or scratches, or regular wear and tear.
The coverage does not include helicopters, boats, cars, buildings and studios.
Where do we cover?
Wedio Global Coverage covers all countries and regions, with a few exceptions.
Currently our global coverage does not cover: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Congo - Brazzaville, Congo - Kinshasa, Cuba, Côte d’Ivoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Mauritania, Myanmar (Burma), Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
What is not covered?
Theft from unlocked vehicles
Wear and tear
Usage outsite the Wedio marketplace
Usage by a third party ‘person’, who is not stated in the rental agreement relating the Wedio order and who is not a verified Wedio member
In case of damage or theft, the renter is responsible for paying 12% of the replacement value or repair cost, but a minimum of £285 in the UK, and a minimum of €335 in the EU.
In case of voluntary parting, the lender gets reimbursed, less a 20% deductible, which is calculated based on the value of the equipment.
Reimbursement will be paid out to lenders with or without VAT depending on the lender's status.
The Wedio Global Coverage is secondary to existing coverage procured by the owner.
In case of damage or theft, and assuming the claim is approved, you will be reimbursed for the value of the equipment rented or the cost of repair, less a deductible, which will be reimbursed by the renter.
In case of voluntary parting, and assuming the claim is approved, you will be reimbursed for the value of the equipment rented, less a 20% deductible, which is calculated based on the value of the equipment.
Need to report a claim?
To file a claim you must meet the following criteria:
The claim is filed no more than 48 hours days after the incident
The claims form is completed and all information is provided including documentation of the damaged equipment (purchase receipt) and documentation of the damage occurring in the rental period
In case of theft and fraud, you have filed a police report and can provide a copy
You have filed a claim on any other insurance policies covering the gear

The Wedio team will be in touch to review the submission and process the claim. We will aim to have the claim resolved in 2 weeks. Depending on the case, it may take longer.
